Caracasbaai (Caracas Bay)
Wide coarse-sand and pebble beach in the protected Curaçao Underwater Park. Unpolished, authentic, locally beloved.
Best known for
Deep calm water for windsurfing, local family weekend barbecues, and excellent shore diving.

Several local snack bars/restaurants, palapas for shade, free public parking. No major public restrooms — use the nearby venues.

Tugboat Beach
Rustic, quirky pebble beach decorated with driftwood art, right next to a busy industrial bay. Better than it sounds.
Best known for
One of the island’s absolute best shore snorkels and dives — a shallow, coral-encrusted tugboat shipwreck just off the coast.

Character-filled beach bar, dive/snorkel gear rental, shaded seating, basic restrooms.

Commercial centre of the island’s beachfront life. Broad sandy beach lined with a two-story open-air shopping and entertainment boulevard.

Shared access to the Mambo Boulevard complex, resort bars (Hemingway), dive shops, restrooms, beach loungers. Often included for resort guests.

Playa Jeremi
Small, narrow, largely untouched natural cove cut out of volcanic rock. Quiet, wild, completely uncommercialized.
Best known for
Exceptionally clear water, peaceful escape from crowds, and unblocked Caribbean sunsets.
Facilities
Minimalist. Beach beds for rent (~7.50 guilders) and some natural shade. No restaurants, no running water, no public restrooms. Bring your own cooler.

Grote Knip (Kenepa Grandi / Playa Abou)
Curaçao’s most famous and celebrated natural bay. Striking electric-blue water. Loved by locals and tourists alike.
Best known for
The iconic clifftop viewpoint over the bay, local music on weekends, and cliff jumping into the turquoise sea.

Coarse, dark sand and pebble beach near Westpunt village. Surrounded by high cliffs and historic ruins.
Best known for
The daring 40-foot (12-metre) cliff-jump from the restaurant ledge into the sea, and sweeping coastal views.

Playa Piskado (Playa Grandi)
Small, highly authentic working fisherman’s beach where local boats dock to clean their daily catch.
Best known for
Swimming with wild sea turtles — fishermen throw scraps into the water, so turtles gather around the pier daily.

Small snack counter, beach chairs, public restrooms (small fee). Upscale Playa Beach Club just up the hill for a luxury option.

At the absolute northwestern tip of the island. Secluded cove hidden beneath a steep cliff, surrounded by lush green trees.
Best known for
Incredible scuba and snorkel diving — especially the reef drop-off nicknamed the “Alice in Wonderland” dive site.

Small, uninhabited, low-lying volcanic island off the southeast coast. The longest, most pristine stretch of white sand associated with Curaçao — and only reachable by commercial boat tour.
Best known for
Untouched white powder sand, swimming with large sea turtles, the historic abandoned pink lighthouse, and an eerie shipwreck on the windward side.
Facilities
No public infrastructure. Major tour operators (Mermaid, Miss Ann) have private beach houses with shade, restrooms, showers, water, and chairs. Catamaran tours cover meals on board.
How to get there
Boat charter from eastern marinas (Jan Thiel or Caracas Bay). ~45 min by fast powerboat, or 1.5–2 hours by catamaran.
